Maine College Bass Fishing

The Carhartt Bassmaster College Series presented by Bass Pro Shops gives college anglers a platform for competing with their peers in a national setting. Anglers can compete in one of five regionals and in a Wild Card tournament for the opportunity to advance to the national championship. From there, one college angler earns a coveted berth in bass fishing’s biggest tournament, the Bassmaster Classic.

Thomas / Briggs 2019 Maine College Champions

Evan Thomas/Alex Briggs, Maine residents, enrolled at Liberty University advance to the Bassmaster College National Championship in the summer of 2020 after winning the Maine B.A.S.S. Nation College Championship with 5 bass for 9.79.

After a fantastic practice locating some quality bass up to 8 lbs on Lake Chickamauga TN the team of Brian Volkernick / Erik Zilgme struggled in their 2 tournament days of fishing and ended the event with 5 lbs of bass. A week to remember with a couple personal best caught including an 8-2 largemouth and a 50 lb blue cat.
