FacebookEagle Bassmasters experienced another successful year in 2017.

Eagle was fortunate enough to be named the top club again at the 2017 state fish-off held on Long Lake/Brandy Pond by bringing in the highest accumulative weight over the two-day tournament.

This year Maine B.A.S.S. Nation held a second club challenge which awarded those who saved the most used soft plastic baits throughout the year. Eagle Bassmasters won this challenge by weighing in 67.42 lbs. of used soft plastic baits that will be recycled and made into new baits to be fished again.

We would like to congratulate our very own Keith Aucoin, Eric Low, Justin Douglas and Jim Lowe on their accomplishments at the 2017 state fish-off and qualifying for the 2018 state team. Good luck and safe travels as they head down to Winyah Bay in South Carolina to represent our club and all of Maine B.A.S.S. Nation.

This year was no different as our members continued to volunteer their time and resources at Camp Sunshine, Buxton/Hollis Rod & Gun Club, NEPVA Bass Trail, open tournaments and more. Our members dedicate four days to Camp Sunshine each year so we can bring these wonderful kids out for a day of fishing. It truly is the highlight of our year.

We continue to hold our club meetings once a month at the Buxton/Hollis Rod & Gun Club and host the annual Kasting Kids event and Kid’s Ice Fishing Derby on Deer Pond every February. If you are interested in becoming a member of Eagle Bassmasters or wish to volunteer at any of these events, please contact our president Steve Wilson (207) 671-2571.

Our highly anticipated annual Moose Pond tournament on Labor Day weekend is now an open tournament and no longer an invitational. It’s a good tournament with good payouts so come register and fish the open in 2018!
